Meet Our Staff

Gavyn C. Smith, DDS

Owner of Eastpoint Endodontics. Board-certified Diplomate of the American Association of Endodontists.

Dr. Smith grew up in Lindon and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 2003, and following high school, served a 2-year church mission in Uruguay. He attended the University of Utah and graduated with his B.S. in Behavioral Science and Health in 2009.

Dr. Smith attended Creighton School of Dentistry, getting into the coveted Utah RDEP program, where only a select few residents from Utah were admitted. He graduated dental school in 2013, receiving the Endodontics award for his research and clinical work in Endodontics. Following dental school, Dr. Smith attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center Endodontics Residency. While there, he served as chief resident during his final year of residency, and earned a national research award at the AAE convention. He finished his residency in 2015, and moved back home to Utah. Dr. Smith is also a board-certified diplomate, which is the highest tier an Endodontist can achieve.

Dr. Smith is excited to be back home with family and friends. He has a wonderful wife, and three beautiful daughters. When not doing dentistry, Dr. Smith enjoys traveling, movies, trying new foods, and going to Thanksgiving Point with his family.

Melissa Carter – Office Manager

Caring, Kind and Compassionate

Melissa has over 20 years of dental experience, from assisting to being an office manager. She is born and raised in Lehi. She enjoys helping patients from A to Z. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys spending time with family, watching her three kids play sports and traveling whenever she can. She also makes some amazing pies!

Kelcee Makin – Lead Dental Assistant

Likes being outdoors and hanging out with her boyfriend and family

Kelcee was born and raised in Utah and has lived most of her life right here in Lehi. Kelcee graduated from Lehi high school in 2019 and also graduated from MTECH with her dental assistant certification at the same time. Kelcee likes being outdoors and hanging out with her boyfriend and her family and friends in her free time. She is the second oldest of 4 kids. Kelcee is currently working full time for Dr.Smith and enjoys working for him and loves helping out all the patients that come in!
